                    [0] => The study is a theoretical approach to the phenomenon of research assessment mainly in the field of information sciences. The phenomena relating with social and cognitive institutionalization of knowledge fields are evaluated being the latter highlighted through the analysis of PhD theses in the field of information defended in Cuba from a mainly quantitative point of view. Data on the behavior of some related indicators such as: amount of theses defended per year, research lines, specific research topics, parent institutions of doctors involved, type of researches and methods used are given. The catalyzingeffect of institutionalization on the acknowledgement of information sciences in Cuba and on the possibility of going deeper in their study in order to thoroughly characterize this field is presented in the conclusions of the work.@en
                    [1] => Se plantea un acercamiento teórico al fenómeno de la evaluación de la investigación particularmente en el campo que encierra las Ciencias de la Información. Se analizan los fenómenos relacionados con la institucionalización social y cognitiva de los campos del conocimiento, y se particulariza en la última a través del análisis de las tesis doctorales defendidas en el campo de la información en Cuba desde una perspectiva fundamentalmente cuantitativa. Se ofrecen datos del comportamiento de algunos indicadores relacionados con las mismas entre los que se encuentran: cantidad de tesis defendidas por año, líneas de investigación en las que se han investigado, tópicos específicos de investigación desarrollados, afiliación institucional de los doctores del campo, tipos de investigación y métodos desarrollados.@es
