                                            [0] => In this paper the characteristics of literacy outlined in the institutionsof information, treatment cognitive functions specialty of Libraryand Information Sciences, carrying a critical thought from the informationaleducation and participation in the Library “user training” to currentmodels of “information literacy”. a philosophical reflection of informationliteracy in both directions is performed: from the point of view of users asmastering a set of skills or skills to obtain, evaluate, use and communicate information through conventional and electronic means and from the view of librarians responsible for the service and activities to achieve the teaching and learning of the concepts, procedures and attitudes concerning access and use of information. In enhancing the educational use of libraries, lifelong learning is vital as a teacher librarian in terms of   ansmitting knowledge for the development of information skills. Information literacy has become an essential and contradictory concept in terms of its meaning for a large part of the library community belonging to university libraries, specialized in general. The experience of information literacy and library extension activity is exposed from a specialized library to teenage audiences.
                                            [1] => En el presente trabajo se expone las características de la alfabetizaciónen las instituciones de información, el tratamiento cognitivoen las funciones de la especialidad de Bibliotecología y Ciencias de laInformación, realizando un pensamiento crítico desde la pedagogía informacionaly la participación de la Biblioteca en la “formación de usuarios”,hacia los actuales modelos de “alfabetización informacional”. Se realizauna reflexión filosófica de la alfabetización informacional en dos sentidos:desde el punto de vista de los usuarios como el dominio de una serie decompetencias o habilidades para obtener, evaluar, usar y comunicar lainformación a través de medios convencionales y electrónicos y desde elpunto de vista de bibliotecarios responsables del servicio y las actividadespara lograr la enseñanza-aprendizaje de los conceptos, procedimientos yactitudes relativos al acceso y uso de la información. En la potenciacióndel uso didáctico de las bibliotecas, es vital la formación permanente delbibliotecario como docente en materia de trasmitir conocimiento para eldesarrollo de habilidades de información. La alfabetización informacionalha llegado a ser un concepto esencial y contradictorio en cuanto asu significado para una buena parte de la comunidad de bibliotecariospertenecientes a las bibliotecas universitarias, especializadas en sentidogeneral. Se expone la experiencia de la alfabetización informacional comoactividad de extensión bibliotecaria desde una biblioteca especializadahacia público adolescente.
