                                            [0] => Special university libraries are essential to support the information activities of their academic community for the generation of new knowledge, thus the development of their collections aims to satisfy the academic activities carried out in the institutions. For this reason, adequate mechanisms and processes have been implemented in order to facilitate the information services that they pro- vide. The library of the Center for Research on North America (CISAN) has had this objective since its inception and, for this reason, it has made use of information technologies to bring its services to the academic community and the public interested in topics about the North American region.
                                            [1] => Las bibliotecas universitarias especializadas son imprescindibles para apoyar las actividades de información de su comunidad académica en la generación de nuevos conocimientos, por lo que el desarrollo de sus colecciones se orienta a satisfacer las necesidades de ese tipo de las áreas de trabajo que laboran en las instituciones. Es por ello que se deben implementar los mecanismos y procesos adecuados, para facilitar los servicios de información existentes en ellas. La biblioteca del Centro de Investigaciones sobre América del Norte (CISAN) ha tenido este objetivo desde su creación y para ello ha hecho uso de las tecnologías de información, con el fin de acercar sus servicios a la comunidad académica y al público interesa- do en temas sobre la región de Norteamérica.
