                                            [0] => This article is intended to serve as an approach to the world of services and collections of digital university libraries in Mexico and learn from different perspectives how the binomial librarian – user is applied in the different forms of distance education.Based on a literature search and a field study this paper provides an overview of the role that university libraries have played to support digital and distance education forms and how information society views them within the teaching - learning process. This study is structured in three sections: the first one reflects on the role of the librarian in the digital environment and how it benefits the different forms of distance education; the second one shows the characteristics of users of distance education and the third one presents interactions between the afore mentioned and some proposals on how to improve the binomial librarian - user for the benefit of distance education forms.
                                            [1] => Este artículo tiene el propósito de servir como un acercamiento al mundo de los servicios y colecciones de las bibliotecas universitarias digitales en México, y conocer desde diferentes perspectivas cómo se da el binomio bibliotecario–usuario en las modalidades de educación a distancia.A través de una investigación bibliográfica y de campo, se brinda un panorama sobre el papel que han seguido las bibliotecas universitarias digitales como apoyo a las modalidades educativas a distancia y como ve la sociedad de la información a éstas dentro del proceso enseñanza - aprendizaje. El trabajo está estructurado en tres apartados: en el primero se reflexiona sobre el rol del bibliotecario en el entorno digital y cómo es su papel para beneficiar a las modalidades educativas a distancia; en el segundo se muestran las características de los usuarios de una modalidad a distancia; y en el tercero se exhibe las interacciones entre ambos y algunas propuestas sobre cómo mejorar el binomio bibliotecario-usuario para beneficio de las modalidades de educación a distancia.
