                                            [0] => The objective is to show how the censorship tradition is established in Brazil and is still used today as a means of silencing the voices contrary to the current regimes. It seeks to highlight the concept of censorship and its origins in the West from the edition of Index Librorum Prohibitorum. The literature review is used to locate two distinct moments of censorship in Brazil, namely when the country was still Cologne, during the Civil-Miitar Dictatorship from 1964 to 1985, where the military ruled the the state and legal apparatus for the control and censorship of publications and in the recent case of search and seizure by the city hall the work exhibited at the Rio de Janeiro Book Biennial in 2019. It concludes that even outside of exception regimes, the Censorship is a recurring activity of governments and people in Brazil and around the world.
                                            [1] => Evidencia-se como a tradição censória se instaura no Brasil e ainda hoje é usada como meio de silenciamento das vozes contrárias aos regimes vigentes. Busca-se evidenciar o conceito de censura e suas origens no ocidente a partir da edição do Index Librorum Prohibitorum. Revê-se a literatura para situar três momentos distintos da censura no Brasil: sendo eles a colônia de Portugal (1500-1822), a Ditadura Civil-Militar (1964-1985), na qual os militares empregaram o aparato estatal e jurídico para controle e censura de publicações, e no recente caso de busca e apreensão, pela Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro, da obra exposta na Bienal do Livro do Rio de Janeiro em 2019. Os resultados apontam para que, mesmo fora de regimes de exceção, a censura é prática recorrente de governos no Brasil.
