                    [0] => This work analysis the reasons which lead an author to publish its own book, identifying the print shops that print its production and if these last know the publishing norms. The research was carried out with eighteen authors who had published by their own. It was noticed a significant number of books published by print shops, this fact reveals that the authors are unsatisfied with the local publishing house considering the bureaucracy, disrespect, lack of commitment and attention to the authors. It was also observed that the authors are in charge of the propaganda and marketing besides, the selling of the books is done by small bookstores in consignment. The authors, apart from hardly knowing about the legal deposit, the copy right register, the standardised norms for book publishing , the importance of the ISBN and the compulsory register and catalogue card, believe that the print shops know the publishing norms. It was perceived that the authors´ options to be published by print shops is, more than anything , motivated by the lack of stimulus from the publishing houses.@en
                    [1] => Analisa os motivos que levam um autor a editar seu próprio livro, identificando as gráficas que imprimem suas obras e se estas têm o conhecimento das normas de editoração. A pesquisa foi realizada junto ao universo de dezoito autores que publicaram suas obras de forma independente. Foi constatado um número significativo de livros editados em gráficas e a procura por gráfica para editoração de obras, está relacionada à insatisfação dos autores com as editoras locais por encontrarem muita burocracia, falta de respeito, de compromissos e de atenção para com eles. Observou também que a divulgação e comercialização ficam a cargo do próprio autor e as vendas ficam restritas às pequenas livrarias que recebem por consignação. Os autores além de desconhecem a exigência do depósito legal, desconhecem também o registro de direito autoral da obra, a existência de uma norma de padronização para editoração de livros, a importância do ISBN e da obrigatoriedade do registro e da necessidade da ficha catalográfica; e ainda, acreditam que as gráficas conhecem as normas de editoração. Observou-se também nesta pesquisa, que a opção dos autores pela editoração de obras através das gráficas é, sobretudo, motivada pela ausência de estímulos oferecidos pelas editoras.@pt
