                    [0] => The culture has even greater relevance in the processes of coexistence and liberation of the subjects from their creation of meanings, as well as their resignification, their communication process and their socialization; integrating transformative action of these human. In this context, Cultural Mediation should be asative ed as a promoter of personal independence, through its educational essence. This study seeks to explore the cultural mediation in the activities performed by the permanent university extension program called "Universidade Aberta da Terceira Idade (Unati)". The study had an exploratory and descriptive qualitative approach. For its development, it was used the procedures of bibliographic survey, documentary research and documentary analysis. An investigation was carried out through the analysis of the guiding documents of that program and the survey of cultural actions promoted in its scope in order to understand the role of mediation of cultural information as a driver of the development and maintenance of autonomy, empowerment and emancipation of the elderly. It was concluded that within the educational perspective and inclusion tool that the practice of culture carries and aggregates, the Cultural Mediation undertaken by Unati grants the elderly who participate in it greater reflexive and critical condition, amiusing them with feelings self-esteem, achievement, capacity and appreciation in society. This autonomy and this empowerment makes them prepared to act more actively under the demands and challenges of the Information and Knowledge Society.@en
                    [1] => A cultura tem papel relevante nos processos de convivência e libertação dos sujeitos a partir da sua criação de significados, bem como da sua ressignificação, processo de comunicação e socialização; integrando ação transformadora desses elementos humanos. Nesse contexto, há que se compreender a Mediação Cultural como promotora da independência pessoal, por meio da sua essência educativa. Este estudo busca explorar a mediação cultural nas atividades executadas pelo programa permanente de extensão universitária chamado “Universidade Aberta à Terceira Idade (Unati)”. O estudo teve abordagem qualitativa de tipo exploratório e descritivo. Para seu desenvolvimento, utilizou-se dos procedimentos de levantamento bibliográfico, pesquisa documental e análise documental. Foi realizada uma investigação por meio da análise dos documentos norteadores do referido programa e do levantamento das ações culturais promovidas em seu âmbito no intuito de compreender o papel da mediação da informação cultural como propulsora do desenvolvimento e manutenção da autonomia, empoderamento e emancipação do público idoso. Concluiu-se que, dentro da perspectiva educativa e de ferramenta de inclusão que a prática da cultura carrega e agrega, a Mediação Cultural empreendida pela Unati concede aos idosos que dela participam maior condição reflexiva e crítica, munindo-os de sentimentos de autoestima, realização, capacidade e valorização na sociedade. Essa autonomia e esse empoderamento os deixa preparados para atuar mais ativamente sob as demandas e os desafios da Sociedade da Informação e do Conhecimento.@pt
