                                            [0] => The Information Science is a field of knowledge characterized by an interdisciplinary aspect. This is mainly due to the information, object of studies shared by CI and different areas of knowledge. In the last years, countless empirical and theoretical studies were developed, which evidenced the existent interfaces between the Information Science and the Semiotics. Such interconnections are due, above all, to the fact that the Information Science demands a better understanding of the information that relates to the processes of significance. In that article, the idea is to identify the existing points of convergence between the Information Science and the Semiotics, in view to enlarge the understanding of the information phenomenon in the contemporary age through the theoretical and practical perspectives resulting from that interaction.
                                            [1] => A Ciência da Informação (CI) é um campo de conhecimento que se caracteriza pela interdisciplinaridade. Esse fato se deve em grande medida a informação, objeto de estudos compartilhado pela CI e distintas áreas de conhecimento. Nos últimos anos foram desenvolvidos inúmeros estudos nos quais ficaram evidentes as interfaces existentes entre a Ciência da Informação e a Semiótica. Tais interconexões devem-se, sobretudo ao fato de a Ciência da Informação demandar uma melhor compreensão da informação no que concerne aos processos de significação. Nesse artigo busca-se identificar os pontos de convergência existentes entre a Ciência da Informação e a Semiótica tendo em vista ampliar a compreensão do fenômeno informacional na contemporaneidade através das perspectivas teóricas e práticas decorrentes dessa interação.
