                                            [0] => The purpose of this paper is to articulate the mediation of information with gender studies, specially LGBTphobia, with focus on the information process at the Reference Center of LBGT Rights and Fight against Homophobia of Paraíba, known as LGBT Space, by describing and disseminating data on the care of transvestites and transexuals. The research, characterized as descriptive and quantitative, utilizes documental sources, that is, the records of the care of transvestites and transexuals attended at LBGT Space between 2011 and 2014. It uses descriptive statistics as a data analysis instrument. It was possible to observe aspects of LBGTphobia that extends beyond regional context and whose confrontation is connected, among other aspects, to the dissemination of precise and reliable information. It is understood that access to and use of quantitative data has the potencial of resignify subaltern relations involving transvestites and transexuals. In this process, it’s considered that the information professional must be evoked as a mediator of information since they reflect on how the dissemination, organization and access to information can contribute to the respect of human rights.
                                            [1] => O objetivo deste trabalho é articular a mediação da informação com os estudos de gênero, especialmente no que tange à LGBTfobia, com foco no processo informacional do Centro Estadual de Referência de Direitos LGBT e Combate à Homofobia da Paraíba, conhecido como Espaço LGBT, mediante a descrição e a disseminação dos dados de atendimento a travestis e transexuais. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como descritiva e de natureza quantitativa, e fez uso de fontes documentais, sendo estas, as fichas de atendimento das(os) travestis e transexuais atendidas(os) no Espaço LGBT no período de 2011 a 2014. Serviu-se da estatística descritiva, como instrumento de análise dos dados. Foi possível observar aspectos da LGBTfobia que se estendem além da conjuntura regional e cujo enfrentamento está ligado, dentre outros aspectos, à disseminação de informações precisas e confiáveis. Entende-se que o acesso e uso dos dados quantitativos têm o potencial de ressignificar as relações de subalternidade que envolvem travestis e transexuais. Neste processo, considera-se que a figura do/a profissional da informação deve ser evocado/a como mediador/a da informação já que busca refletir como a disseminação, organização e acesso à informação podem contribuir para o respeito aos direitos humanos.
