                    [0] => The paper presents the results of the study of the state of art of international and national initiatives that are exploring the use of metadata standards and ontologies to add knowledge in annotations in order to accomplish the organization and integration of ultimedia information in different domains. To this end, we have used bibliographic and documentary survey as the research method, in the fields of information science and computer science, dealing especially with the area of documentary representation of multimedia types. This research allowed us to comprehend the efforts and challenges present in the development tasks of metadata standards, controlled vocabularies and formal ontologies, in an attempt to better represent information aimed at semantic retrieval.@en
                    [1] => O artigo apresenta o resultado do estudo do estado da arte de iniciativas internacionais e nacionais que estão explorando o uso de ontologias e padrões de metadados para agregar conhecimento em anotações a fim de realizar a organização e integração de informações multimídia em diferentes domínios. Para tal, foi utilizado como método de pesquisa o levantamento bibliográfico e documental nos campos das ciências da informação e da computação, especialmente na área de representação documental do tipo multimídia. Permitiu-se evidenciar que há esforços e desafios no desenvolvimento de padrões de metadados, vocabulários controlados e ontologias formais na tentativa de melhor representar informações visando à recuperação semântica.@pt
