                    [0] => The  cataloging  process,  is  responsible  for  building  systems  consisting  of  sets  of  interconnected elements and combined forms of representation, creating tools to facilitate the  flow  of  information  in  various  informational  environments.  It  presents  structures  that offer favorable conditions for access to formal codes of symbolic representation and to the channels of information transfer, performing with competence the decoding and encoding of  codes  and  rules  used  to  represent  knowledge  and  to  describe  information,  documents and  resources.  The  objective  of  this  paper  is  to  present  the  challenge  of  transforming operational data into consistent information, the role of the forms of representation and the mental  constructions  for  defining  the  memory  markers  of  users  of  catalogs.  It  shows  as results the memory markers indicated by three categories of users for the description of a book  like  resource  and  points  to  the  need  of  collaborative  and  cooperative  work  in cataloging and to the need of catalog modelling focused on the user. @en
                    [1] => O processo de catalogação, como responsável pela construção de sistemas constituídos por conjuntos  de  elementos  interconectados  e  combinados  de  formas  de  representação  cria  instrumentos para facilitar o fluxo da informação nos mais diversos ambientes informacionais  e  é  responsável  pela  apresentação  de  estruturas  que  oferecem  condições  favoráveis de acesso aos códigos formais de representação simbólica e aos canais de transferência  da  informação,  desempenhando  com  competência  a  decodificação  e  a  codificação dos códigos e regras utilizados para representar conhecimento e descrever informações,  documentos  e  recursos.  O  objetivo  neste  artigo  é  apresentar:  o  desafio  de  transformar dados operacionais em informações consistentes, o papel das formas de representação  e  as  construções  mentais  para  a  definição  dos  marcadores  de  memória  de  usuários de catálogos. Apresenta como resultados os marcadores de memória indicados por três  categorias  de  usuários  para  a  descrição  de  um  recurso  do  tipo  livro  e  aponta  a  necessidade do trabalho colaborativo e cooperativo na catalogação e a importância de catálogos modelados com foco no usuário.@pt
