                                            [0] => Objective: to point out some questions about non-traditional library fields such as health, highlighting the potential trend of clinical librarianship. Method: literature review and an interview with a librarian at a university teaching hospital. Results: most of the Brazilian health librarians work in academic libraries, and those few who can be found in clinical settings look for the basis of their work in practical activities instead of scientific ones. Working outside libraries, the professional could act as a bridge between information and the user in public hospitals, teaching hospitals, and consultancy projects, helping to find adequate resources to enable the best clinical decisions. The physical building of the library itself does not necessarily have to exist, for the priority is no longer the collection but the access to information. Hospital librarians have not yet been named as clinical although some practical initiatives and discussions can be seen in the country. On the practical initiative side, a pilot project has been going on since 2008 at Orthopaedics Department of a university hospital with the main purpose of identifying the information needs of physicians, teaching staff and residents when writing research projects and in the process of submission of scientific papers, to promote training on databases search and retrieval. These activities happen in a non-traditional library environment which requires knowledge about information retrieval as well as the flow of clinical research. Conclusion: librarianship must free itself from library and should be where the customer is; those who are thinking out of the box may well be paving the way for clinical librarians’ work in the country.
                                            [1] => Objetivo: destacar a atuação profissional na área da saúde e a potencialidade da tendência aos serviços de Biblioteconomia Clínica. Método: revisão de literatura em periódicos de Biblioteconomia, anais do do Encontro Nacional de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação em Ciência da Informação (Enancib) e entrevista com bibliotecária de hospital universitário. Resultados: os bibliotecários brasileiros na saúde ainda atuam no setor acadêmico e os poucos encontrados na área clínica fundamentam suas atividades na prática, sem atitude científica. Fora das bibliotecas médicas, poderiam agir como verdadeira ponte entre informação e usuário em hospitais públicos, hospitais de ensino, consultorias em projetos, revisão e orientação de trabalhos científicos, localizando recursos para permitir aos clínicos, respostas para melhor decisão clínica. Bibliotecários atuantes em hospitais ainda não se denominam bibliotecários clínicos, mas já é possível antever a perspectiva de atuação desse profissional rumo à Biblioteconomia Clínica por conta de algumas iniciativas práticas e de discussões em eventos da área de informação. Na questão prática, bibliotecária de um hospital universitário brasileiro vem trabalhando junto ao Setor de Ortopedia na identificação das necessidades informacionais de médicos, docentes e residentes, na elaboração, orientação, redação e submissão de projetos de pesquisa e de artigos científicos, na capacitação em bases de dados. Constitui atividade em ambiente não tradicional que exige, principalmente, conhecimento de técnicas de recuperação da informação e do fluxo da pesquisa clínica. Conclusão: A Biblioteconomia tem que sair da biblioteca e das demais “caixas” onde é exercida e ir, de uma vez por todas, para onde está seu cliente. Este bibliotecário que está sendo vislumbrado no Brasil, mesmo não sendo ainda um bibliotecário clínico, está construindo e abrindo caminhos.
