regimes – nationalism and, consequently', separatism, have become the order of the day. Separatist claims have arisen in Brazil, both in the North and in the South, in the name of
supposed opposing interests and of alleged ethnic-cultural regional level. The question o/ national unity. Which is fundamental for the survival of Brazil as a nation, should be
analysed without passion or partisanship. The problem is closely' linked to the intelligent use of the information media with respect to political conscientization which takes into account the comparative advantages, in terms of scale, of national unity.

comunistas – o nacionalismo e, consequentemente, o separatismo, têm estado na ordem do dia. No Brasil têm surgido, tanto no norte como no sul, reivindicações separatistas em nome de supostos
interesses contrariados e de pretensas unidades étnico-culturais a nível regional. A questão da unidade nacional, que é fundamental para que o Brasil sobreviva como país, deve ser analisada sem
paixão ou partidarismo. O problema está profundamente ligado ao uso inteligente dos meios de informação em termos de uma conscientização política que leve em conta as vantagens comparativas, em termos de escala, da unidade nacional.
