                    [0] => Este artigo discorre sobre os principais acontecimentos históricos e as iniciativas que deram origem à gestão da informação. Apresenta o progresso conceitual do tema, partindo da discussão basilar sobre as significações iniciais para os termos informação e gestão, ao discutir a respeito das relações interdisciplinares da gestão da informação. Caracteriza-se como estudo exploratório, com abordagem qualitativa, do tipo bibliográfico. A gestão da informação contemporânea torna a disciplina fundamental para o desenvolvimento de uma nova - a Gestão do Conhecimento - cujo objetivo se diferencia do da gestão da informação por pensar para além da gestão da informação. A partir disso, considera-se que o objetivo principal deste estudo foi atingido, porque deu subsídios teóricos para o desenvolvimento de pesquisas futuras em gestão da informação.@pt

This paper discusses about the major historical events and initiatives that originated the information management. It is presented the conceptual progress of the theme, starting from the basic discussion of the initial meanings to the terms information and management, in discussing the interdisciplinary relations of information management. It is characterized as an exploratory study with qualitative approach, of bibliographic type. The contemporary information management is become this discipline fundamental to the development of a new one - Knowledge Management - whose objective is different of information management because it thoughts beyond the information management. From this, it is considered that the main objective of the present study was achieved, once it provides theoretical subsides for the development of future researches about information management.@en
