                                    [description] => O artigo apresenta o Programa de Inclusão Sociodigital do Governo do  Estado do Pará, o Navegapará, fazendo um histórico desde sua implantação  até os dias de hoje. Mostra ainda os desafios enfrentados para  implantação da banda larga na Amazônia, que objetiva mitigar o problema  da exclusão digital do povo paraense. O Navegapará é o Programa do  Governo do Estado do Pará (Gepa) que objetiva promover a inclusão social  através da inclusão digital, integração e acesso às políticas públicas.  Visa também promover a democratização do acesso à Internet pelos órgãos  de governo e pelas comunidades, possibilitando a  implantação do  governo digital e a aproximação do cidadão das políticas públicas. O  programa, em sua essência, preconiza a ciência, a tecnologia e a  inovação como eixos estruturantes do desenvolvimento econômico e social  do Estado, e possui cinco pilares: desenvolvimento econômico e social;  inovação e empreendedorismo; produção científica e tecnológica;  competitividade.Palavras-chaveAmazônia. Navegapará.Navegapará: Challenges of broadband on the Amazonian regionAbstractThe objective of this paper is to present the Program of Socio-digital Inclusion of the Government of Pará State, Navegapará, and its historical development from the beginning up to the present time. The challenges involving the establishment of the broadband in the Amazonian region are displayed, for the purpose of soothing the problem of digital exclusion in Pará State. The objective of Navegapará is to promote social inclusion through digital inclusion and integration of access to public policies, as well as democratization of internet access to the different governmental sectors and communities, for the citizens to be acquainted with the public policies. The essential objective of the program is to present science, technology and innovation as important means for economic and social development of Pará State. The program is based on the following pillars: economic and social development; innovation and entrepreneurship; scientific and technological production; and competiveness.KeywordsAmazonian region.
