Aborda um histórico processo de exclusão como resquício do escravismo que imperou por mais de três séculos, como resultado das relações de poder exercidas pelas demandas dos colonizadores portugueses. O contexto da sociedade da informação e do conhecimento exige uma redefinição das políticas de informação nas ciências sociais e aplicadas, com vistas ao acesso e uso da informação. Reconhecimento e aceitação.Informational policies for the inclusion of black Afro-descendants starting from a new understanding of the cultural diversityAbstractIt discusses the inclusion of black afro-descendants in the cultural diversity concerning the present situation in which this group lives in the Brazilian society. It approaches a historical process of exclusion as a vestige of slavery which reigned for more than three centuries, as a result of power relationships conducted by Portuguese colonizers. The context of the information and knowledge society demands a redefinition of informational policies in the domains of the applied social sciences, aiming at the access and use of information. One concludes that the Information Science tends to include in its worries new themes on investigative actions that are from specific needs of different audiences.KeywordsCultural diversity.
