[0] => Introduction: In contemporary, the information is considered as a product of higher value that if well analyzed and processed can be, of the direct way, a differential to decision making in the organization context. Thus, in the public sector context such as State University of Londrina (UEL) that for new service development needs to contract an external company, the use of information is frequent, and when this information is processed and differentiated, can to provide support to decision making, with an improvement of both administrative structure and work form. Objective: In this study we analyzed the quality of information that support decision making in the bidding process for hiring civil works and constructions services carried out at UEL in 2009. Methodology: Documentary study, aiming to raise the information mentioned in the documents that integrate the bidding process. Using a questionnaire with open questions to identify information and check its relevance to the bidding process Results: The quality of the information found in the documents analyzed and classified in this study as: (a) minimum - those that attend UEL records, as administrative or edictal process, (b) critical - those found in the edictal that provide security for the shares and (c) potential - strategy of managers to decide the best proposal for construction. As it has been verified contractual changes, it was done the examination of the reasons leading to the requirements of these additives, it has showed: (i) modifying the spreadsheet service, (ii) an extension of time for completion of the work and (iii) increase in value initially hired. Among the information that motivate additives to higher recurrence was justifying the need to amend the spreadsheet service. It was also shown the importance of the flow of information for decision-making. The value of the information in the records that comprise the bidding process for decision making, it was found that both the information classified as minimal, as potential or precarious have its value, however, is not enough to have this information, but rather, use them properly. Regard to the records flow it was found that it was important to the procedures dexterity, although it does not affect the quality of information. Conclusion: The results of this study showed aspects related to professional practice on the importance of learning, in the ability to discern between information which are most appropriate decision-making process in question; efficiency in the use, storage as well as discard of information.
