                                            [1] => Naforma de uma revisão da literatura, é examinada a hipótese de que o advento da chamada "sociedade pós industrial" ou "sociedade da informação" tem dado lugar a um período de atividade socio-econômico que representa uma mudança radical domodo anterior de desenvolvimento. É discutido o consenso de que a dinâmica desta nova forma de sociedade favorece um tipo de desenvolvimento ecollômico e social ecologicamellte mais sustelltável, prillcipalmellte porque o novo paradigma tem como seu eixo a illformação e atividades relaciolladas a ela, o que promoveria uma suposta "desmaterialização" da sociedade. A questão dasformas com as quais este novo paradigma de desellvolvimento pode, ou não, afetar os chamados "países recém desellvolvidos" é também discutida.
