                                            [0] => The Archivology and a field of knowledge that makes their study in the archives, which in turn, are spaces whose objectives are intended to provide adequate information, preserve and improve local memory. However, photographic collections, the main issue in this article, the records and important tools for maintaining and upgrading memory. The article is a description, then, an analysis of the photographic collections of two institutions of higher education located in the city of Joao Pessoa. It is an empirical, qualitative, thereby potentially by pass the possible whys behind the phenomenon investigated, to personal photos, cultural and social explicit and implicit in the images. The data seem possible involvement of institutions in progress of Joao Pessoa.
                                            [1] => A Arquivologia é um campo do conhecimento que perfaz seus estudos nos arquivos, que por sua vez são espaços idôneos cujos objetivos visam disponibilizar informações, preservar e valorizar a memória local. Contudo, os acervos fotográficos, assunto principal nesse presente artigo, são documentos de arquivo e instrumentos importantes de manutenção e valorização da memória. O artigo descreve e analisa os acervos fotográficos de duas instituições de ensino superior localizadas na cidade de João Pessoa. Trata-se de uma pesquisa empírica, de caráter qualitativo, buscando, portanto, os possíveis porquês escamoteados por trás do fenômeno investigado, no caso os quadros pessoais, culturais e sociais explícitos e implícito nas imagens fotográficas. Os dados apresentam um possível envolvimento das instituições no desenvolvimento de João Pessoa.
