                                            [0] => This study aims to analyze the purposes of the use of information and knowledge in a private institution of higher education in the city of Itabira, Minas Gerais, from the perspective of its collaborators. In the methodology used in this study, we used the qualitative research approach, of the descriptive type regarding the ends and field research on the means. The research universe consisted of the private higher education institutions of Minas Gerais. The sampling criterion chosen was non-probabilistic, for accessibility and for typicity, which defined as a sample the Community Foundation of Higher Education of Itabira (FUNCESI). Using as instrument for data collection, a semi-structured interview focused on three managers And three teachers, in addition to use to verify the data collected, content analysis. The main results of the research were; The mapping of the concept of information and knowledge among the research subjects; Identification of types and applications of informationand knowledge in the Institution, which made it possible, through the analysis, to compare the data collected with the literature present in this study, with the perceptions of the respondents, showing similarity between them. Finally, it was possible to observe that, from the information obtained, the research subjects arrive at considerations quite close to those recommended by the authors of the researched literature, although they succinctly define the information as something that derives from the data, which contextualized result in meanings / Information and knowledge as a process of knowing, creating and making sense.
                                            [1] => Este estudo tem como objetivo analisaras finalidades do uso de informação e conhecimento em uma instituição privada de ensino superior na cidade de Itabira, Minas Gerais, sob a perspectiva de seus colaboradores. Na metodologia empregada neste estudo, utilizou-se a abordagem de pesquisa qualitativa, do tipo descritiva quanto aos fins e pesquisa de campo quanto aos meios. O universo de pesquisa foi constituído pelas instituições privadas de ensino superior de Minas Gerais. O critério de amostragem escolhido foi o não probabilístico, por acessibilidade e por tipicidade, o que definiu como amostra a Fundação Comunitária de Ensino Superior de Itabira (FUNCESI). Utilizando-se como instrumento para coleta de dados, entrevista semiestruturada focalizada a três gestores e três professores, além de utilizar para verificação dos dados coletados, a análise de conteúdo. Os principais resultados da pesquisa foram; o mapeamento do conceito de informação e de conhecimento entre os sujeitos da pesquisa; identificação dos tipos e aplicações da informação e do conhecimento na Instituição, o que possibilitou, por meio da análise, confrontar os dados colhidos com a literatura presente neste estudo, com as percepções dos respondentes, demonstrando similaridade entre eles. Por fim, foi possível observar que, a partir das informações obtidas, os sujeitos de pesquisa chegam a considerações bastante próximas daquelas preconizadas pelos autores da literatura pesquisada, embora sucintamente, definem a informação como algo que deriva dos dados, que contextualizados resultam em significados/informações e o conhecimento como processo de conhecer, criar e fazer sentido.
