                                    [description] => Apresenta resultados do estudo exploratório da comunidade virtual “Biblioteconomia”, presente no Orkut. Nela, parte dos mais de cinco mil membros da citada comunidade interage por meio do fórum de discussões, espaço em que trocam informações sobre os mais variados aspectos da prática profissional do bibliotecário. Revela os temas mais discutidos pelos estudantes de biblioteconomia e profissionais formados. Conclui que o fórum da referida comunidade serve, principalmente, como local para os bibliotecários participantes tirarem dúvidas acerca de tarefas a serem executadas em centros de informação, compartilhar experiências de trabalho, e balcão de oportunidades de emprego e estágio, dentre outras considerações apresentadas.

Abstract: This article presents an exploratory review of the virtual community "Biblioteconomia" (Library Science), in the social networking site Orkut. In this community, more then five thousand members interact in a forum, where they can exchange information on all kind of topics related to the librarian profession. The article exposes the most discussed themes among students and professionals. It concludes that the forum of the aforementioned community is used, basically, as a place where the members can solve doubts about their jobs
in information centers, share experiences and find job opportunities, among other issues presented.
