                                    [description] => São consideráveis as mudanças ocorridas com a transformação dos Centros Federais de Educação em Institutos Federais de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia. Mudanças essas que vão além da simples troca de nomes. Este artigo apresenta um conjunto de fontes de informações importantes para geração de novos conhecimentos e, também, algumas ferramentas úteis no processo de armazenamento e divulgação de novas pesquisas, de modo a contribuir para o fortalecimento e crescimento desses novos Institutos. Além da leitura da obra de Campello, Cedón e Kremer de 2000, foi feito um mapeamento de outras fontes de informação e ferramentas de gerenciamento. Conclui-se que as bibliotecas tem um papel importantíssimo na divulgação dessas informações bem como na participação da criação de novos instrumentos de gestão do conhecimento. There are considerable change about  the  transformation  of  the Federal Centers for Education in Federal Institutes of  Education, Science and Technology. The Changes  is not simple exchange of names. This article, based on a  literature search  and  consultation  to  various  websites,  presents  a  number  of  important information  sources  for  the  generation  of  new  knowledge  and  also  some  useful tools  for  storage  and  dissemination  of  new  research.  It    contribute  to  the strengthening  and  growth  of  these  new  institutes.  Besides  reading  the  work  of Campello, Cedón and Kremer , 2000,  it  was a survey of other  information sources and management  tools. It is concluded that the libraries have an important role in the dissemination of  information and participation  in  the  creation of new  tools of knowledge management.
