Using socio-political and economic characteristics of the network society proposed by Castells (1999), this article aims to reflect on the importance of social responsibility and ethics, with regard to the production and dissemination of information through information and communication technologies . The reflections presented here emanate from studies and discussions about information as a constituent element of emancipation from society. In this way, a debate was written about the possibilities of action of Information Science, amid the floods of fake news that flooded the networks in the Brazilian elections of 2018, with the Comprova Project as a model of ethics and social responsibility to be followed.


 





 
 

 


                                            [1] => Utilizando-se de características sociopolíticas e econômicas da sociedade em rede proposta por Castells (1999), este artigo tem como objetivo refletir sobre a importância da responsabilidade social e da ética, no tocante à produção e disseminação da informação através das tecnologias de informação e comunicação. As reflexões aqui apresentadas emanam de estudos e discussões sobre informação enquanto elemento constituinte de emancipação da sociedade. Deste modo, foi escrito um debate acerca das possibilidades de ação da Ciência da Informação, em meio às enxurradas de fake news que inundaram as redes nas eleições brasileiras de 2018, tendo o Projeto Comprova como modelo de ética e responsabilidade social a ser seguido.
