                                    [description] => Resumo A  Ciência da Informação, como área de conhecimento, preocupa-se em trazer  para seus estudos a abordagem transdisciplinar, permitindo interagir  com outros campos do conhecimento, a fim de buscar elementos conceituais  para contribuir com a sua estrutura teórica e prática para a informação  na área da comunicação em busca do conhecimento contextualizado. O  debate sobre a memória requer reflexões nas pesquisas em Ciência da  Informação, sobretudo quando analisada do ponto de vista de como a  história do(a) negro(a) se faz presente, como memória, no discurso  jornalístico. Através dos jornais são catalisadas as expressões  políticas, institucionais, diálogos socializantes sobre as relações  interraciais, legitimando a desigualdade social pela cor da pele. Nesse  sentido, o objetivo dessa pesquisa é analisar a construção de imagens  sobre os(as) negros(as) no discurso jornalístico, tomando como foco de  análise os jornais da imprensa negra, O Menelick e A Pérola, que  circularam no ano de 1916. Especificamente pretende: a) identificar e  mapear as edições dos jornais da imprensa negra armazenados no  repositório da UFC; b) localizar o papel da imprensa negra no campo  jornalístico e sua produção no ano de 1916; c) relacionar os discursos  sobre o negro, produzidos pela imprensa negra com o contexto histórico,  político, econômico e cultural do período analisado. A metodologia mais  apropriada para ser utilizada é a que propicia uma abordagem discursiva  na linha de Eni Orlandi (2009) e a de Patrick Charaudeau (2009), as  quais não se preocupam com a quantificação na construção dos dados, pois  estes são reunidos em função de sua qualidade, de suas características,  exigindo-nos uma tarefa de conceituação. Diante da análise dos jornais,  constatou-se que o negro é apresentado por cenários compostos de  protestos, reivindicações, formação educacional e seu desejo de  integração na sociedade, ou seja, por um discurso permeado pela busca da  sua identidade. Palavras-chave Ciência da Informação; memória; imprensa negra; análise do discursoAbstract The  Information Science as a field of knowledge is concerned to bring, to  their studies, the transdisciplinary approach, enabling interaction with  other fields of knowledge, in order to seek conceptual elements to  contribute with its theoretical and practice framework for the  information in the communication area in such of the knowledge in  context. The debate about memory requires reflection in the Information  Science researches’, especially when viewed from the standpoint of how  the history of the Afro-Brazilian is present as memory, in the  journalistic discourse. Through these newspapers are catalyzed the  expressions political, institutional, collectivist dialogues about  interracial relationships, legitimizing social inequality by skin color.  In this sense, the goal of this research is to analyze the construction  of the images about the Afro-Brazilian in the journalistic discourse,  focusing on analysis of the black press newspapers’, O Menelick and A  Peróla, which circulated in the year 1916. Specifically aims to: a)  identify and make a map of the editions of the black press newspapers’  stored in the repository of the UFC, b) locate the role of the black  press in the journalistic field and its production in the year 1916; c)  to relate the discourse about the Afro-Brazilian, produced by the black  press with the historical context, political, economic and cultural  analysis period. The most appropriate methodology to be used is the one  providing a discursive approach in the view of Eni Orlandi (2009) and  Patrick Charaudeau (2009), which are not concerned with the  quantification in the construction of data, since these are grouped  according to its quality, its features, requiring us a task of  conceptualization. In the analysis of newspapers, it was found that the  Afro-Brazilian is presented by setting composed of protests, claims,  educational background and his desire to integrate in the society, that  is permeated in the a discourse by the search of his identity.Keywords Information Science; memory; black press; discourse analysis
