                                            [0] => Based on a study made in the Library of Monsenhor Manoel Aquino Barbosa, the article presents a theoretical discussion about marks of provenance and context of ownership and circulating marks. This aims to expose some epistemological proposals about these concepts sometimes treated in a diffuse way. In this context it exposes the research potentialities that go beyond the content of the works - which puts on trial the dangerous idea of obsolescence merely based on the text of the books. To this end, by the method of observation and sampling, it uses as an example the labels of two bookstores/publishers that existed and had great circulation in the city of Salvador. The result points to something that theorists around Material Bibliography have mentioned for decades, the book as an object is much more than text, its informational character is much higher than what is supposed. For this reason, in the final considerations one could not fail to question what has been lost in libraries that still lie silent or worse have been destroyed by the criminal erasure of massive discarding.
                                            [1] => A partir de estudo feito na Biblioteca do Monsenhor Manoel Aquino Barbosa, o artigo apresenta uma discussão teórica acerca das marcas de proveniência e contexto das marcas de posse e circulação. Esta visa a expor algumas propostas epistemológicas sobre esses conceitos por vezes tratados de forma difusa. Nesse contexto, expõe as potencialidades de pesquisa que vão além do conteúdo das obras - o que coloca em julgamento a perigosa ideia de obsolescência meramente baseada no texto dos livros. Para tal, pelo método da observação e coleta de amostragem, usa como exemplo as etiquetas de duas livrarias/editoras que existiram e tiveram grande circulação na cidade de Salvador. O resultado aponta para algo que teóricos da área de Bibliografia Material mencionaram há décadas, o livro como objeto é muito mais que texto, o caráter informacional dele é muito superior ao que se supõem. Por essa razão, nas considerações finais não poder-se-ia deixar de questionar o que tem sido perdido em bibliotecas que ainda jazem silentes, ou pior, foram destruídas pelo apagamento criminoso do descarte maciço, sem critério plausível
