                                            [0] => The aim of the current study was to analyze oral hygiene habits of pregnant women, as well as oral health impact on their quality of life, based on Praise-Instruct-Recommend (PIR) method application via Web-survey. In addition, it analyzed sociodemographic factors associated with the Oral Health Index Profile-14 (OHIP-14). Cross-sectional study was carried out with 201 women who participated in specific WhatsApp groups for pregnant women in Espírito Santo State (Brazil) from August to November 2020. Personal, socioeconomic and oral hygiene data of participants were collected and the OHIP-14 scale was applied to them. Univariate and multiple logistic regressions were performed to analyze the association between sociodemographic data and the OHIP-14 scale. After pregnant women were assessed, they received instructions about their current oral health via email. Most pregnant women presented favorable sociodemographic conditions; 46.3% of them were instructed about oral hygiene practices and 53.7% were complimented for their oral hygiene habits. Oral health impact on participants’ quality of life was observed in 10.0% of cases; this impact was associated with the fact that these women were the head of their families (OR = 4,26; IC95%:1,62-11,20). Intelligent technology using in the oral hygiene care provided to pregnant women can work as an instrument to track them and encourage their adherence to dental prenatal care. It can also work as new mean to promote oral health, mainly for the most vulnerable pregnant women.
                                            [1] => O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar hábitos de higiene bucal e o impacto da saúde bucal na qualidade de vida em gestantes por meio do método Elogiar-Orientar-Recomendar (EOR) via Web-survey. Além de analisar os fatores sociodemográficos associados ao Oral Health Index Profile-14 (OHIP-14). Trata-se de um estudo transversal, realizado com 201 mulheres que participavam de grupos específicos de WhatsApp para gestantes residentes no Estado do Espírito Santo, Brasil, no período de agosto a novembro de 2020. Coletou-se dados pessoais, socioeconômicos, higiene bucal e aplicação da escala OHIP14. Realizou-se regressão logística univariada e múltipla para análise da associação entre dados sociodemográficos e a escala OHIP-14. Após a avaliação as gestantes receberam orientações sobre a sua saúde bucal atual, via e-mail. A maioria das gestantes apresentavam condições sociodemográficas favoráveis; 46,3% receberam orientação quanto as práticas de higiene bucal e 53,7% elogio. A ocorrência de impacto da saúde bucal na qualidade de vida foi 10,0%, estando o impacto associado ao fato da mulher ser a chefe da família (OR = 4,26; IC 95%:1,62-11,20). A utilização de tecnologia inteligente nos cuidados de higiene bucal em gestantes pode funcionar como instrumento rastreador e estimulador para a adesão ao pré-natal odontológico, sendo um novo meio de realizar promoção de saúde bucal, principalmente para gestantes mais vulneráveis.
