One of the filmsto portray this period is Tony Manero (Pablo Larraín, 2008). The work follows Raul, amiddle-aged man obsessed with John Travolta’s character in the film Saturday NightFever (John Badham, 1978). To analyze this film and in the search to understand howthe director proposed a look at the hybrid and alienating culture, through musicals, inLatin America, the texts of Benjamin (1987) and Chion (2011) and the texts of Castanheira (2016) and Canclini (2019). As a result, in addition to a film analysis, a study wasobtained of how the alienating character of the Hollywood industry is reflected in theChilean dictatorship, and consequently, in Latin America
                                            [1] => Em 11 de setembro de 1973, com o apoio dos EUA e sob o comando do general Augusto Pinochet (1915-2006) teve início a ditadura militar no Chile. Uma das obras a retratar esse período é o filme Tony Manero (Pablo Larraín, 2008). A obra acompanha Raúl, um homem obcecado pelo personagem de John Travolta no filme Embalos de Sábado à Noite (John Badham, 1978). Para compor esse trabalho, serviram como base os textos de Benjamin (1987) e Chion (2011) e os textos de Castanheira (2016) e Canclini (2019) que trarão uma busca pela cultura híbrida e alienante, por meio dos musicais, na América Latina. Como resultado, obteve-se, além de uma análise do filme de Larraín, um estudo de como o caráter alienante da indústria de Hollywood fica estampado na ditadura chilena e, por conseguinte, em outros países da Latina América.
