It raises issues concerning production, publication and control of legal information, be it descriptive(codtrine), normative (legislation) or interpretative (Jurisprudence). It presentes the instruments used to maintain that control, stating their advantages and disadvantages.Finally, it points out the contribution of the Federai Senate, by means of the publication of law collectanea, of the Bibliografia Brasileira de Direito (Brazilian Bibliography of Law) andspecialized bibliographies, and by the maintenance of data bases related to doctrine, legislation and jurisprudence (BIBR, PERI, JORN, NJUT and JURI) and auxiliary data bases (VCBS, AUTR and THES) with the vocabulary used in the information indexing and retrieval.KeywordsInformation retrieval.
