                                            [1] => Objetivo: Discutir sobre a reinvenção da Biblioteconomia no contexto da quarta revolução.
Método: O estudo foi caracterizado como descritivo e utilizou como métodos a revisão de literatura, a análise bibliográfica e documental.
Resultados: Apresenta um panorama sobre a quarta revolução, promovida pelas tecnologias digitais, e seus impactos no mundo do trabalho. Observa que, diante da crescente facilidade de acesso à internet, as bibliotecas estão dividindo seu espaço de provedor de fontes de informação e verifica a persistência do perfil tecnicista do bibliotecário. Discorre sobre a desconexão entre a formação superior e as exigências atuais e potenciais do mercado de trabalho do bibliotecário contemporâneo no Brasil.
Conclusões: Recomenda-se repensar o ensino na graduação em Biblioteconomia e promover a aprendizagem continuada para que os bibliotecários desenvolvam e atualizem competências informacionais e tecnológicas.
